Classes Offered

Ballet

It is the foundation of all dance. Students are highly encouraged to study it first along with other dance forms

Required attire: Pink ballet shoes, tights and leotard, skirt optional, hair in a bun, no jewelry.

Pointe

Dancing “en pointe” or on pointe is a major goal in a ballerina’s life. It requires strength of the legs and feet. Students will be evaluated by the Ballet teacher to determine if they are physically ready for pointe work.

Required attire: Pink pointe shoes, tights and leotard, skirt optional, hair in a bun, no jewelry.

Tap/Tap Technique

Tap is the art of creating rhythms and sounds by using precise patterns of foot movement. Tappers develop outstanding coordination, musicality and rhythm as they progress from basic to more complex patterns.

Required attire: Tan or black tap shoes, any color or style of dancewear.

Jazz

One of the most popular styles of dance, jazz showcases a dancer’s individual style, and originality. It is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps and quick turns.

Required attire: Tan or black jazz shoes, any color or style of dancewear, no baggy clothes.

Jazz Technique

This is a separate class that focuses on turns, jumps, leaps, and jazz combinations. It emphasizes correct jazz lines and execution of movement.

Required attire: Tan or black jazz shoes, any color or style of dancewear, no baggy clothes.

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a structured form of street dancing found in music videos. It is designed to teach coordination, strength, quickness, agility, and endurance.

Required attire: Street styled tennis shoes, comfortable clothing for freedom of movement.

Preschool

We offer specialized Tap and Ballet for ages 3 to 5. See below for more information.

Required attire: Black Tap shoes and pink Ballet shoes, any color or style of dancewear.
